As it attempts a conversation between opposing worlds, the piece shows two artists – a director and an actor – situated very differently in their journeys tackling questions around gender, violence on gendered bodies, retribution and resolution. The play follows the director’s journey as she begins to question the value of her system and society through the characters she plays.

Indian philosophical arguments are tied to myths, which, in turn, have an uncanny knack for storytelling. When we opted for layered oral storytelling, we chose to do so in a way that connects the present to the past.

He explains that the piece examines their dissonances-resonances between them and their independent trajectories. “What happens when the creative premise you’re working on comes out of the realm of art and play and stares you in the face as your reality? What do you do when your art starts to respond to you, to take on a own life and ask yourself questions you are not equipped to answer? When resolution seems impossible, when the situation seems to demand it with a sense of urgency? How do you really respond to a serious lack of answers?” He wonders.
