Direct Technology, a Roseville-based provider of IT and business services to state and local government agencies for more than 25 years, has joined its Government Solutions arm with Launch Board. The two entities had operated as sister companies in the form of a private equity company TA Holdings Group.
In its new incarnation, the newly formed arm is known as the Start the government and will be led by an experienced technologist Davood Ghods and former US Department of Defense consultant Kyle Keyser.
“Launch Consulting is thrilled to add Direct Technology’s government solutions group to its roster of digital transformation experts,” the company said in a press release. “Originally, sister companies of investment firm TA Group Holdings, Launch and Direct Technology have a long history of integrating each other’s expertise to create powerful and agile solutions that translate between public and private sectors and create a better human experience for all.”
Ghods, a public and private sector tech veteran, had served as head of the Office of Technology Services with the California Department of Technology before joining Direct Technology in 2016.
Keyser had served as Direct Technology’s senior vice president for the government sector before being named vice president of Launch Government.
“Direct Technology and Launch have worked together on multiple projects over the years, exchanging public sector knowledge and incredible technical talent,” Keyser said in the press release. “With so many government teams looking to create customer-centric digital experiences, now seems like the perfect time to officially join forces.”
“From developing a statewide emergency call tracking system (which now handles more than 40% of all emergency calls nationwide), to creating mission-critical state health and wellness solutions, improving access to public services through the management of the digital accessibility program, this team has been in step with the development and innovative technology within of the government,” the company said.
Launch has expertise in data visualization and AI, a key asset for the team’s ongoing and upcoming projects. Its public sector clients include the California Department of Food and Agriculture, California Department of Housing and Community Development, California Department of Health Care Services, California Department of General Services and the City of Concord in the East Bay area.
Direct Technology has kept its partners and customers engaged through its seven-part program Exponential government Ghods series and podcast, Davood for thoughtin which he interviews tech personalities from the private and public sectors.
