BELLAIRE – The County Antrim Tea for Breast Cancer Prevention will take place on July 17 at the Shanty Creek Resort. Table viewing opens at 11:30 a.m. Lunch and a program start at noon.

Mission week

TRAVERSE CITY – Freedom Builders Missions is hosting Missions Week July 18-23. Fellowship, prayer, and orientation begin at 6 p.m. July 18 at First Christian Church.

Volunteers meet at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday through Saturday at the church. Work on a community project until about 3 p.m. A picnic and worship begins at 4 p.m. on July 23.

TRAVERSE CITY — Coffee with a Cop runs from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on July 20 at the Grand Traverse Pie Company, 101 N. Park Street.

Officers from the Traverse City Police Department, Grand Traverse Sheriff’s Office and Michigan State Police plan to speak with residents.

Author talk

ELK RAPIDS – Friends of the Elk Rapids District Library presents “Wine, Wade and (Mostly) Women” at 6:30 p.m. July 20 at the Harbor Pavilion at the Elk Rapids Marina.

Author Wade Rouse talks about his novels, which he writes as his grandmother Viola Shipman. Tickets are $15 per person and include a glass of wine. Proceeds will go to the library’s summer reading program.

FIFE LAKE – Historian Craig Bridson presents a visual history of Fife Lake at 7 p.m. July 20 at American Legion Post 219.

Fife Lake String Band performs, and cakes and refreshments are available to celebrate 150 years of Fife Lake.

Concert in resort

LAKE LEELANAU – Lyrics ‘The Lake Tour begins at 7:30pm on July 20 at Fountain Point Resort. Performers include Spin Doctors lead singer Chris Barron, folk-rock songwriter Shawn Mullins and indie-rock musician Steve Poltz.

Guests can bring drinks, blankets and lawn chairs. Space is limited. Admission is $75 per person through mynorthtickets.com.

SUTTONS BAY – The Four2 board returns at 1pm and 3pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays in Mawby until August. Two people can taste four wines and four food and wine pairings for $100.

Cookbook available

INTERLOCHEN – The Friends of Interlochen Public Library continue their fundraising for cookbooks. “Tables of Contents” features nearly 300 recipes from community members.

The cafe reopens

SUTTONS BAY – Hearth and Vine Café at Black Star Farms is open for the season. The cafe closed last season due to COVID-19 challenges.

Food and wine are served from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Indoor and outdoor seating is available.

The court party
