PBKS versus GT: Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans will face Mayank Agarwal’s Punjab Kings in a battle of skippers for the first time at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Match 16 of Tata IPL 2022 is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.

The Kings and Titans got off to a decent start to their respective Indian Premier League campaigns after a successful mega auction for both. The Kings are among the pre-season favorites to finally get their hands on the IPL trophy after 14 years of near misses. The Chandigarh-based franchise have won two of their three games so far, having chased a mammoth scoreline against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their opener before succumbing to the power of Andre Russell against the Kolkata Knight Riders. The Kings, however, bounced back with a 54 win over defending champions Chennai Super Kings in their previous fixture and will be looking to build on that momentum against IPL debutants.

The Titans are off to a fantastic start to their first-ever IPL campaign, winning back-to-back wins in their two matches so far. The Ahmedabad franchise beat fellow debutants Lucknow Super Giants in their first game before beating Delhi Capitals by 14 points in the second.

The Kings currently sit in fourth place in the points table, while the Titans sit in third place.

This is the first time the Kings will face the Titans in the IPL.

Former Knight Riders star Shubman Gill was the star of the Titans as they beat the Delhi Capitals with an 84 from 46 after being dismissed for a duck in Game 1. The Indian hitter will be looking to continue his fine form against the Kings.

Shikhar Dhawan cemented his place as a pivotal player for the Kings in his three appearances so far, scoring 43 carries on 29 balls against the Royal Challengers before following up with a 24 ball 33 against the Super Kings.

The most expensive foreign recruit in the IPL this season, Liam Livingstone set the stage on fire against the Super Kings as he hit 60 balls from just 32 balls and won player of the match honors for his overall performance. He also picked up two wickets in three overs for just 25 runs.

Flying to No. 4, Hardik Pandya showed a glimpse of why he was once hailed as India’s answer to the legendary Jacques Kallis. He also had four overs in both matches and appears to be in fine form after his injuries. His captaincy was also hailed as a breath of fresh air.

fast india Mohammad Shami was the star for the Titans on their debut against the Super Giants, taking three for just 25 runs. While expensive in the second game, he still picked up two wickets for 30 runs in two overs and will be looking to make a similar impact against his old side.
