It shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone who’s ever listened to Method Man that they have a brand of cannabis called TICAL. The man used the word “tical” as slang for pot since the early 1990s. Now, TICAL is available at five black-owned clinics in Detroit.

TICAL teamed up with Rochester Hills-based Glorious Cannabis to launch their “Sweet Island Skunk” infused pre-roll strain earlier this week. Pre-rolls are available at House of Zen, West Coast Meds, Remedy, The House of Mary Jane and Al Harrington’s Viola. They will also come to all eight House of Dank locations.

Partnering with women and minority businesses has been part of Method Man’s vision for TICAL since launching the brand in California in 2020.

“Personally, it’s critical that we use our brand to help raise awareness of social, systemic and economic injustice in communities that have struggled against oppressive mass incarceration and racist policing,” he said. he declared to New York Post at the time.

TICAL, an acronym for “Taking All Lives into Consideration”, is also the name of Method Man’s first solo album from 1994.

“Partnering with TICAL and Method Man is so much more than working with a celebrity,” said Pete Truby, vice president of marketing for Glorious Cannabis Co. Benzinga. “Method Man has been a true cultural pioneer for over 20 years, and his passion for leading quality and raising awareness of injustice is inspiring. We are thrilled with this partnership and are working hard to ensure that our product meets the high standards of the great brand of TICAL.
