He has only beaten all four home runners in four starts this campaign and was beaten by a combined margin of 38.05L, but that hasn’t stopped punters believing that history can repeat itself with the Sydney specialist. I am Vinnie
The gelding trained by David and Coral Feek opened at $ 51 (TAB) for the penultimate race at Randwick Boxing Day – the BM78 Chandon Garden Spritz Handicap (1400m) – which in its recent form feels like a basement touch.
But we have already seen this story with the Mornington-based galloper.
After medium runs in Victoria, he heads to Sydney for a BM78 over 1400m and gives a duly salute.
A few times he played cricket.
In fact, he has a perfect record in the harbor town, winning twice on the Randwick course proper and once on the Kensington Track.

The seven-year-old son of I Am Invincible has won seven of 34 stats, with his last three wins all in Sydney dating back to August 2019.
On this occasion, I Am Vinnie headed for the Kensington track from a Synthetic Pakenham win, but was undesirable by punters, dropping from $ 31 to $ 61 before defeating Thy Kingdom Come by a long neck.
His next run in Sydney came five months later after being downgraded to four runs in Victoria, beating Laure me in by 1.3 lengths at Randwick by paying $ 51.
Bettors weren’t fooled for the third time last December when he returned to Randwick after a Ballarat placement, firming from two digits to jump to $ 7 when typing Juventus of a length.

And so, despite the fight for form in Victoria, I Am Vinnie certainly has his admirers for Sunday’s mission.
It was backed from $ 51 to $ 12 with only minor deductions from the scratching of Planet of love.
Some of the bigger bets with TAB have been $ 200 to $ 51, $ 200 to $ 34, $ 500 to $ 26, $ 1000 to $ 21, and $ 1375 to $ 14.
Campbell Rawiller will take the helm with a claim of 3 kg of Gate 8, reducing I Am Vinnie to 56.5 kg.
Blesk holds the favoritism for the narrow run at $ 4.80 on Vivid fox at $ 5.
