The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period May 19-26, 2022. Due to its length, this report has been divided into four parts. This is the first part. Please note that an arrest or charge does not constitute a conviction.

  • Animal Complaint – E Spring St. Cat inside engine compartment. Handed over to animal control
  • Traffic Stop – N Broad St & Golden Pantry. Two men were arrested for possession of drugs.
  • Property Damage – Unisia Dr – In reference to someone who damaged the plaintiff’s car in the Hitachi parking lot. Minor damage to the car.
  • Flight – Breedlove Drive and West Spring Street. In reference to a Wendy’s employee reporting that his Iphone 12 was taken by someone in the store lobby while on the charger. Report taken.
  • Dispute – West Spring Street (Piedmont Walton). In reference to an upset patient. Mediated situation.
  • Suspect Vehicle – N Midland Av. Proper parking, towing advised on private property.
  • Litigation – West Spring / Oreilly’s. A man was arrested for robbery by kidnapping and transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Suicide attempt – E Church St – In reference to the subject cutting himself with glass and being aggressive with his grandparents. Subject was taken to Piedmont Walton by EMS.
  • Property Damage – W Spring St. In reference to a small bathroom fire earlier this date. Report done.
  • Property Damage – Tanglewood Dr – In reference to the Complainant returning home to find the back window of her residence smashed. Report taken.
  • Dispute – Cook Pl. The parties had a verbal argument. The situation was publicized.
  • Assault Act – West Spring St. A staff member advised that while attempting to perform a grip exam on a patient, the patient intentionally injured her. The patient underwent a mental evaluation.
  • Other Law – Blaine St. In reference to a subject being threatened by another subject for not paying a prostitute. Remedies were advised.
  • Warrant – North Broad St in reference to a female subject with active warrants out of the sheriff’s office. Warrants was arrested and taken to jail. Warrant taken for having given a false name.
  • Dispute – Nowell St No dispute has arisen. Subject was irritable and upset due to financial problems.
  • Conflict – Sweetgum Dr. Complainant said people are disputing. After further investigation, a man was arrested for violating a parole warrant and giving a false name. Another was arrested for reckless driving for discharging a gun in the air during the dispute.
  • Suspicious Person – N Broad at Hwy 78 Man observed crossing overpass guardrail. The male has been identified and all have been informed of the reason for the contact.
  • Suspicious Person – N Madison and Bold Springs Ave. Observed man with a backpack. Due to the recent entry of automobiles into the city, contact has been made with the subject. It’s okay, the man said he was walking home. The male has been identified and attached to the report.
  • Concentrated patrol – McDaniel/Woodland sector. Everything seemed ok.
  • Suspicious person Springer Ln in reference to a named subject on the spot sitting outside the callers home. He was advised to leave.
  • Harassing Communications – Hillcrest Commons A complaint from a woman was called because an ex called her multiple times and drove past her residence honking her horn. Comp was advised to obtain a temporary protective order due to the history of the FVA in the past.
  • Shoplifting – W. Spring St; In reference to a topic that shoplifts at Walmart. Lost Prevention requested that subject receive a citation for criminal trespassing for 2 years from location.
  • Juvenile Issue – S Madison and Atha St. Complainant advised that juveniles were playing on the roadway. Negative contact has been established with the miners.
  • Dispute – West Spring Street in reference to a 10-13 patient becoming combative. The patient was not combative and told the staff that he was not going to be transported to another hospital. The WCSO has been advised to transport the patient.
  • Property damage – W. Spring St; In reference to the Complainant who hit the Murphy gas station stop sign. Report taken.
  • Suspicious Person – West Spring in reference to a known subject as the arson suspect that occurred on 05/21/22 in Walmrt. Subject was taken into custody.
  • Wanted person – Perry Street; The named male subject was arrested on an outstanding felony probation violation warrant without incident. Subject was transported to prison without incident.
  • Wanted person – rue Alcovy; Picked up at Probation Office, subject transported to Walton County Jail.
